Frequently Asked Questions

Here are some common questions people ask me.

Deliveries

How long does it take to deliver?

You can order any time during the week, and I will deliver your full gas bottles on the closest delivery day for your area.

Is it safe?

We have filled hundreds of bottles now safely and have checked our fill procedure with gas suppliers and it is safe and reliable. We check the expiry date on the bottle, clean it and then weigh it to guarantee the right volume of gas (no overfilling).

How does the delivery work?

Once you have ordered a gas cylinder, you simply leave your empty one (and payment if paying by cash) outside your door. I will swing by to replace it with a full one and I will update you via text.

Can you deliver at any time?

I used to deliver every day, but more customers and more school means I deliver on certain days only now. You can order days in advance at your convenience, but I can only deliver on the designated days and times.

How many gas bottles can you deliver at once?

I can deliver as many as you can order! If my orders exceed my stock I can promise at least one bottle per customer ASAP, and the rest soon after.

What if I live outside your delivery zone?

If you live outside of the zone, you can still arrange to swap your bottles at my house for the same price of $15. It’s like making the trip to the shops, but paying less.

Where are you planning to deliver in future?

I am always looking for more opportunities to expand, and my sights are set on Frenchs Forest, Belrose, St Ives and the rest of the beaches.

What if I miss your delivery?

If you don’t leave your cylinders out or I can’t find them when delivering (or find payment if you have chosen to leave payment) then I will not drop off and will text you of the failed delivery. I will just confirm with you when you are ready and add your bottles to the next delivery run. If this happens I will charge an extra $5 missed delivery fee.

Are the deliveries Covid safe?

Yes, I prefer to just drop off and pick up. It is safer and more efficient so long as you leave your empties outside. All my bottles are sanitised and the delivery process is contactless. Of course, I can always meet you at the door if you prefer that.

Will you let us know if you can’t make a delivery?

Yes. If I am going to be away for a long period, I will announce it on the website so you can get your orders in before then.

How many runs do you do a day?

I do one run on each of the days I deliver, after school during the week and mid-day during the weekend.

Gas cylinder questions

Can I give you my faulty gas bottle?

If you have a faulty gas bottle and wish to swap it, you will have to take it to the shops and swap it there, not with me.

Will I get my exact bottle back?

No. My instant swaps mean you won’t get your bottle back, but another bottle from a previous swap. This means you may get a different brand to the one you swapped, but all are filled with the same gas. If you choose to leave my service and want a particular bottle brand to use from there just let me know and I will arrange a swap for you.

Does it matter what brand of canister I give you?

No. I can refill any soda gas canister brand, and most brands use the exact same system. Since all canisters are filled with the same gas, the brands only differ by the labels on them. You may not receive the same brand of canister as the empty one you gave me, but will be receiving the same gas regardless.

Can you fill the new PINK bottles?

There are some new pink bottles that use a different quick release system compared to slightly older bottles. They have done this to stop businesses like mine, but I have a special fitting that allows me to fill these bottles too. Just remember to order the right refill when you place your order (Soda gas canister REFILL Pink SWAP)

Can you sell me a spare bottle?

All the bottles I refill and swap are from you, the customers. However, sometimes I come across spares that I resell for $30 (full, delivered).

Are there times where you can’t refill our bottles?

I have refilled hundreds of cylinders and only a couple have been faulty however I sometimes come across a bottle that is more than 10 years old. It isn't safe to fill these. When I pick up your bottle if it is too old I will leave it with you to swap yourself at the shop.

How much gas do you fill the bottles with?

I weigh all my filled canisters to guarantee the amount I fill them by. Most cylinders fill to slightly more than the ones at the store and I guarantee that the gas value you will get from me is better than what you get from stores.

Is the gas food safe?

Yes. All the gas I use is food grade used for brewing/carbonation and is bought from BOC. See picture below.

What if I have problems with my bottle?

If I give you a bottle that doesn’t work with your machine for any reason don’t hesitate to contact me. We can troubleshoot then arrange a replacement bottle at no charge. I have filled many hundreds of bottles and have had very few issues. Sometimes it is the customer's machine that is at fault and I can help fix them too.

Do you sell anything other than bottle refills?

I have a small stock of new cylinders for sale at $30 each (full and delivered). I do not sell anything else at this point, like machines or actual plastic bottles.

How many bottles do you recommend?

Most of my customers have two bottles, so one can get refilled while the other is in the machine. My biggest customer has six! I don’t know what they do with them all.
